Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs and Rural Development K C Joseph today said there was no need for any controversy over choosing eminent personalities for Padma titles this year.
The cabinet sub-committee had selected names of persons considering all the yardsticks laid down earlier by the appropriate authority and accordingly a list was prepared.
Later the cabinet had approved the list and submitted it to the Centre, he said.
He said that the state government had recommended the name of actor Madhu only for the Padma title and he was awarded with Padma Sree.
