Diabridge to open 18 health hubs

KOCHI: Diabridge Pharmacy, which is a part of Diabridge Health Management Systems, will set up 18 'health hubs' within a year, said Dr ArifPonnambath, its chief executive officer, on Tuesday.

"These hubs will take up long-term monitoring of chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and hypothyroidism of the patients registered with us. These diseases have a prevalence rate of 43% in Kerala," Ponnambath said. "Our idea is to offer convenient and cost effective health care to those patients who are in need of monitoring and care on a long term basis," he added.

Within three months, four hubs are coming up at Kadavanthara, Kaloor, Vazhakkala and Edappally in Kochi. More outlets will be launched at Elamakkara, Kalamassery, Palarivattom, Kakkanad and Deshbabhimani Road, he said. The company has a plan to add 12 outlets to these every year.

At these hubs, a pharmacy, managed by a community pharmacist, will track the medicines used by the patients. A full-time general physician will also be available.
