KMA annual convention on Feb 7 and 8

KOCHI: Kerala Management Association (KMA), the body of management professionals in the state, will hold its annual convention on February 7 and 8 on the theme 'sustainability and growth in challenging times'. D Purandeswari, Union minister of state for commerce and industry, will inaugurate the convention at 6.30pm on February 7 at Le Meridien, Kochi.

Nitin Paranjpe, MD and CEO of Hindustan Unilever, and Prasad Chandran, head of BASF's south Asia operations, will speak at the inaugural session. There will be two technical sessions and one panel discussion next day. Corporate executives, management professionals, industrialists and management will attend the convention.

Onno Ruhl, India country director of World Bank, Shrijeet Mishra, executive director and COO of Times of India Group, and S Y Siddiqui, COO of Maruti Suzuki India, will be addressing a technical session on transformational leadership, KMA said

Hasit Joshipura, VP for south Asia and MD for India at Glaxo Smithkline, Ullas Kamath, joint MD of Jyothi Laboratories, and Sangeeta Pendurkar, MD of Kellogg's India, will also be talking in the convention. Subhash Menon, chairman of Kivar Group, Bangalore,; K T Chandy, partner - tax and regulatory services, Ernst & Young; K S Jamestin, director - HR, ONGC; Rajeev Sreenivasan, professor, IIM Bangalore; and Sumanta Dutta, VP - customer and commercial leadership at Coca Cola will participate in a panel discussion.

At the valedictory session to be held on February 8, Sachin Pilot, Union minister of state for corporate affairs, will be the chief guest, and D Shivakumar, president of All India Management Association and senior VP - India, Middle East and Africa for Nokia, will be the keynote speaker. The third KMA - Federal Bank excellence awards will be announced on the occasion. The best corporates in Kerala will be awarded for their excellence in the following areas during the calendar year 2012.
