North Central Railway to run Mela special trains for Paush Poornima

ALLAHABAD: For the convenience of pilgrims, the North Central Railway will run special trainsfor Paush Poornima snan on Sunday. Railways will ply special trains from Allahabad junction to Kanpur, Chunar, Itarsi among other places.

Railways will run 37 Mela special trains. Out of these, 10 Mela specials will ply in Kanpur direction, 10 in Chunar/Mughalsarai direction, seven each in Banda/Jhansi direction and Satna/Jabalpur direction and rest in other directions. These trains will ply on January 26, 27 and 28.

Various Mela specials will run between Allahabad and Kanpur. Train number 54151 will depart from Allahabad at 3:25 am and reach Fatehpur at 6:40 am and Kanpur at 9:40 am. During the return journey, the train will depart from Kanpur Central at 6:15 pm and reach Fatehpur at 9:15 pm and Allahabad at 1:45 am. The train will also halt at Bharwari, Sirathu, Khaga, Bindki Road between Allahabad and Kanpur.

Train numbers 101/102 will ply between Allahabad and Kanpur. This train will depart from Allahabad at 10 am and reach Fatehpur at 11:45 am and Kanpur at 1:05 pm. During the return journey, the train will depart from Kanpur at 2:05 pm and reach Fatehpur at 3:20 pm and Allahabad at 6:05 pm.

Train numbers 103/104 and 105/106 will also ply between Allahabad and Kanpur stations.

Railways will also run special trains between Allahabad and Chunar. Train number 202 will depart from Allahabad junction at 3 am and reach Naini junction at 3:15 am, Vindhyachal at 4:50 am, Mirzapur at 5:17 am and terminate at Chunar at 7 am. During the return journey, the train will depart from Chunar at 7:40 am and reach Mirzapur at 8:15 am, Vindhyachal at 8:40 am, Naini at 10:02 am and terminate at Allahabad at 10:30 am.

In addition, various Mela specials, including train numbers 203/204 and 205/206, will also ply between Allahabad and Chunar.

Train numbers 207/208 will ply between Allahabad and Varanasi. This train will depart from Allahabad at 11:15 am and reach Naini at 11:30 am, Vindhyachal at 12:55 pm, Mirzapur at 1:15 pm, Chunar at 1:35 pm and terminate at Mughalsarai at 2:30 pm. During the return journey, the train will depart from Mughalsarai at 3 pm and reach Chunar at 3:45 pm, Mirzapur at 4:20 pm, Vindhyachal at 4:32 pm, Naini at 6 pm and terminate at Allahabad at 6:40 pm. Train numbers 54103/54104 will run between Allahabad and Varanasi via Mughalsarai.

Special trains will run between Naini junction and Jhansi. Train number 302 will depart from Naini at 00:05 am and reach Manikpur at 2:20 am, Chitrakoot at 3:08 am, Banda at 5:50 am and terminate at Jhansi at 10:25 am. During the return journey, train number 301 will depart from Jhansi station at 11:50 am and reach Banda at 4:50 pm, Chitrakoot at 3:38 pm, Manikpur at 8:00 pm and terminate at Naini at 10:15 pm.

Chief public relations officer, NCR, Sandeep Mathur said in addition to special trains, various enclosures have been put up at Allahabad and Naini stations. Different boards have been set up in the Mela area and announcements are also being made regarding the enclosures and Mela special trains, he added.
