Shashi Tharoor urges Centre to develop Tvm central railway station

THIRUVANANTHPURAM: Minister of state for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor has urged Railways Minister Pavan Kumar Bansal to make adequate provisions in the coming railway budget for development of Thiruvananthapuram railway station.

In a statement here, Tharoor said he had asked for measures to facilitate early completion of all ongoing projects for infrastructure development and passenger amenities in the sector.

Tharoor, representing the capital city, said development of Kochuveli and Nemom stations and functional extension of Thiruvananthapuram Central station had been mentioned in his request before the railway ministry ahead of its budget.

Tharoor has also demanded extension of the Kollam-Madurai passenger to Nagapattinam.
